As you know, social media is a great way to engage with consumers, build your personal brand, provide valuable information to consumers, and more! We have some resources that we offer our associates and we want to make sure you know how to share them to make the best impact.
Awards Announcements – Congratulations to all our 2018 Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Award Winners! Each of you should have received a personalized awards image that you can share on social media and we want to make sure you know how to share the high resolution version of your award image. If you did not win an award, we have some additional suggestions to get you noticed on social media.
Step 1 – Open the email you received from Dan Forsman. It was sent Monday afternoon from email@example.com.
Step 2 – You will see a thumbnail image and a message from Dan. You don’t want to share the thumbnail as it’s low resolution due to the limitations of sending in email. Below the message is a link to view and share your award. Click this link.
Step 3 – If you are using a desktop or laptop, right click on your award image and click “Save Image As.” Navigate to the file where you want to save your image and click “Save”. On a mobile device or tablet, you can save the image to a cloud folder such as iCloud or OneDrive. Now you can share your image on social media as you would any other image. Note – Instagram only allows you to add posts via the app, you will need to save the photo to the photo gallery on your device.
Step 4 – There should also be an image for social sharing below the message from Dan in your web link. You can click the link for the social media site you want to share on, include a message, and share! Note: Depending on your device, browser and other factors, you may see some quirks in the sharing functions. But this usually works well.
Other great content we have for you to share are the videos from Vayner Media that Chris Stuart talked about at Kickoff. In the marketing Resource, there’s a section called “2018 Marketing Campaign” and that’s where these items reside. Here’s how to get there:
Step 1 – Go to the intranet, then Single Sign-On Center. Click “BHHS Resource Center.” Once there, click “Marketing Resource.”
Step 2 – Just below the buttons, you’ll see “2018 Marketing Campaign” materials. Click “See All” on the right.
Step 3 – On the left, you’ll see options to narrow down your results. Click “type” and for purposes of this demo, we’ll click on “Video.” Note: If you click “social media,” you will only see timeline covers and banners.
Step 4 – When choosing a video to post to social, make sure to select one that correlates to where you’re posting – Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc… Click on the item you wish to share. Some examples include the First Time Homebuyer video titled “What does your first home feel like?” or the downsizers video titled “The Leaves – Why Nest?”
Step 5 – Once the item you want to share is open, you’ll see a description along with post copy that’s ready for you to add to your post! You can click on the icons to email, embed, Facebook, twitter, linkedin, get a shareable link, or download. We recommend that you download the video and then upload to your social media account. This performs better than the shared links.
Step 6 – Simply upload the video file, paste the suggested copy, editing for your voice and messaging, add a couple hashtags, then submit the post.
